Polyethersulfone PES
INTRODUCTION TO POLYETHERSULFONE
Polyether Sulfone PES, also abbreviated PESU, is a thermoplast with an outstanding ability to withstand exposure to elevated temperatures in air and water for prolonged periods without compromising on performance. Furthermore, Polyethersulfone PES is inherently flame retardant as well as resistant to mineral acids and alkalis.
Polyether Sulfone PES is very amorph and thus transparent, which enables it to be used as a replacement for PMMA.
Attention needs to be paid when one works with Polyester Sulfone and unpolar organic solvents as well as aromatic hydrocarbons as PES is not resistant to these matierals.
