Compact spinning belongs to cotton type spinning and is thus closely related with ring spinning. So it is that these two technique almost are identical - with one slight difference: with compact spinning, the fibers get lined up parallely by vacuum pressure during drawing (point 4 here). This has the effect that even fibers on the verge are embedded in the yarn. The resulting yarn is thus smooth, less hairy and of higher tenacity as more fibers are incorporated.
ADVANTAGES OF COMPACT SPUNS
Compact spun yarns have the following advantages:
- reduced hairyness
- reduced fiber fly
- higher tenacity
compared to other cotton type spun yarns
- higher elongation
compared to other cotton type spun yarns
MATERIALS FOR COMPACT SPINNING
Being part of the cotton type spinning system, there are no special requirements regarding fibers that differ from those of cotton type spinning.
