Polyetherimide PEI
INTRODUCTION TO POLYETHERIMIDE
Polyetherimide (PEI) is a high-temperature, thermoplastic polymer. Unlike other polymers, the surface of Polyetherimide PEI can be modified to either hydrophilic or hydrophobic characteristics, enabling Polyetherimide PEI to be used in membranes for biomedical applications for example.
Polyetherimide is flame as well as solvent resistant, shows excellent thermal stability (property retention up to abt. 170°C) as well as low smoke density.
