Synthetic conductive
yarns and fibers

nylon

Nylon fibers are composed of polyamide 6.6 with a layer 0.2 microns thick of conductive copper sulphide fused by chemical process into the outer skin of the fibre, which has a reddish brown colour in its final form. The layer of copper sulphide is intimately integrated into the polymer ensuring a permanent resistance to the usual wear conditions and various chemical treatments.

Nylon fibers combine :

an excellent electrical conductivity : 10 5 ohm/cm
outstanding antibacterial properties
a permanent retention of these properties

excellent textile characteristics

Introduction rate

Nylon fibers should be used in a blend form. Generally 1 to 2 % of Nylon fibers are sufficient in a textile material to grant it excellent antistatic properties.

Resistance

R.STAT/N fibres

Nylon fibers have been subject to series of tests reproducing real conditions of use with acceleration effect. Nylon fibers keep their original conductivity after several years under normal conditions of humidity and temperature. Light has no effect on this behavior at all.

Moreover, physical (abrasion, elongation) or chemical treatments (dyeing, washing, dry cleaning) do not affect the properties of the fibers.

Polyester

Polyester fibers are composed of high tenacity polyester with a layer 0.2 microns thick of conductive copper sulphide fused by chemical process into the outer skin of the fibre, which has a golden colour in its final form. The layer of copper sulphide is intimately integrated into the polymer ensuring a permanent resistance to the usual wear conditions and various chemical treatments.

Polyester fibers combine :

an excellent electrical conductivity :
10 4 ohm/cm
outstanding antibacterial properties
a permanent retention of these properties
excellent textile characteristics

Resistance

Polyester fibre are especially designed for gas filtration. They resist particularly long exposures to high temperatures (150C) as well as to acid hydrolysis. Light has no effect on this behavior at all.

Moreover, physical (abrasion, elongation) or chemical treatments (dyeing, washing, dry cleaning) do not affect the properties of the fibers.
